Travel - AirBnB

Things have been busy, sorry about the lack of recent posts. Here's a thought provoking post about travel to tide you over - AirBnB. Would you ever stay in a stranger's home while travelling? Would you invite strangers into your own home? I like the premise, most people actually ARE nice, not serial killers. I still think I might be too chicken, though for $190/night, the Pom Pom Beach Villa above might tempt me.

Dress Up - Spring Jackets at Kmart

Kmart Jackets
Kmart Jackets - by elecbunni on Polyvore.com

I needed something specific from Kmart today. While I was there, I was astonished to see they had a great selection of spring jackets. Better yet, the most expensive was STILL under $40! Stylish and a deal? Be still my heart...

Dress Up - Frock Shop

I have been a fan of Frock Shop for awhile now. They always have a darling selection of clothes and accessories, and I am on board with their 'Get dressed up, sweetie,' mantra.

In these scary economic times, I can't help but fear that one day I will click over only to find that all my favorite small shops have been closed.

I certainly hope that won't be the case for frock shop! Just look at these darling clothes! They are also having a sale right now, so click over and support a great small business!

Dress Up - Winter Coats on the Cheap

I love forever 21 (haha I just did a typo and it read forever 32, which would be more like it!) but I am painfully aware that I am too old to shop there. I normally try and go during 'off' hours for teenagers, like 5:30 PM on a Tuesday - teenager's still have curfews and stuff on school nights, right? I keep going back, though, because they have such cute stuff for really cheap. I went on New Year's Eve to buy a top for the evening (which I found for $20 and was told by multiple gay men that I looked 'HOT'). While I was there, I was ASTONISHED at the cute coats they had for super cheap. Seriously.

There are still months of cold weather left, ugh, and with the recession and after-holiday resolutions, who has money to spend on a new coat? ME, that's who, because I went to forever 21. So, if you are, err, over 21, gather your courage, and head to the nearest mall. Once one of these gorgeous coats are in your possession, you won't mind having to elbow a bunch of 15 year olds out of the way. Seriously.
